GLADSTONE, Ore. (AP) — Officers in Clackamas County say they hope to talk soon to a 60-year-old man to determine what happened Sunday when two people were shot, one fatally, in a mobile home park in the Gladstone area.

Neighbors told The Oregonian (http://bit.ly/yekoQw) the two were in frail health, and their finances were crumbling.

They say 55-year-old Lisa Stevie Haynes had back problems and epilepsy, and she recently lost access to funds for corrective surgery for her neck. Authorities say she died of a gunshot wound to the chest, but they haven’t determined who fired the shot.

The sheriff’s office said her companion and caregiver, Terry Lee Daniel Sr., shot himself in the chest and was hospitalized in serious condition. Authorities said Tuesday he wasn’t able to talk to them.
