CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled defenseman Keith Aulie from the American Hockey League after placing Carl Gunnarsson on the injured list.

Gunnarsson crashed into the boards during Monday’s practice and suffered an ankle injury that will keep him out for at least seven days. The Swedish defenseman has two goals and 18 points in 55 games for Toronto this season.

Aulie has bounced back and forth between the Leafs and AHL Toronto Marlies, collecting one assist in 15 NHL games this season.

The Leafs kick off a three-game road trip through western Canada against Calgary on Tuesday night.
