March 1 lottery for plots in community garden

Clark County is accepting lottery submissions for a chance at a plot in the 78th Street Heritage Farm community garden program.

Deadline to apply is 6 p.m. Feb. 29.

A drawing will be March 1.

The community garden is a year-round program, beginning in March.

“Gardeners of all levels of ability are encouraged to participate. We offer free classes from the Master Gardener Foundation,” Sunrise O’Mahoney, community garden manager, said in a press release. “Community gardens are an excellent way to learn about growing healthy, fresh food.”

The plots are 20 feet by 20 feet, and no pesticides are allowed. The plots cost $60 a year, but some scholarships are available.

To enter the drawing, send your name and email address or phone number to O’Mahoney at 360-619-8315 or sunrise.omahoney@clark.wa.gov.
