NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Kent Bazemore scored 23 points and Nick Wright added 19 to lead Old Dominion to an 81-64 victory over UNC Wilmington in a Colonial Athletic Association game Tuesday night.
After trailing 15-12 midway through the first half, the Monarchs (17-11, 12-4) took control with a 19-2 run that gave them a 31-17 lead with 4:50 until halftime. Bazemore scored nine of Old Dominion’s first 11 points during the run.
The Monarchs led 43-24 at the break after shooting 51.5 percent (17 of 33) to 33.3 percent (9 of 27) for the Seahawks (9-17, 5-11).
Old Dominion never led by fewer than 13 points in the second half.
Bazemore also grabbed eight rebounds for the Monarchs, who outrebounded UNC Wilmington 45-33. Chris Cooper added 12 points, and Richard Ross had eight points and eight rebounds.
Keith Rendleman had 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Seahawks, his 15th double-double this season.
