Fred Meyer customers and employees donated more than $5,200 to Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center’s cancer services as part of their giving campaign.
The seven Clark County stores collected $5,259.11 from Nov. 6 to Dec. 3, 2011 through change donations to checkstand coin boxes. Local store employees also donated to the Fred Meyer Fund, the company’s corporate foundation.
Salmon Creek Hospital Foundation accepted the donation from Fred Meyer this month.
Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center’s cancer services programs serve more than 3,600 people annually. Money raised will be used to offer mammograms to those who otherwise could not afford them and to provide support groups for breast cancer patients and families.
