Bagley Downs — The Vancouver AAA office collected more than 1,800 toiletry items for charity during a recent Soap for Hope donation drive.

The donations of soap, shampoo, toothpaste, lotion and other toiletry items were donated to the YWCA Safe Choice Domestic Violence Shelter.

“The success of Soap for Hope is due in large part to the efforts of our members and community partners which have done an amazing job supporting this event,” said DeLora Walker, manager of AAA’s Vancouver office. “We are so pleased to have their support every year. We simply could not do this without them.”

Toiletry items are in high demand at local shelters and food banks because they are daily necessities that cannot be purchased with food stamps.
