Duquesne beats Fordham 77-67

PITTSBURGH (AP) — B.J. Montiero scored a career-high 30 points and Duquesne defeated Fordham 78-67 on Wednesday night for its fourth straight win.

Sean Johnson and T.J. McConnell each chipped in with 13 points for the Dukes (15-10, 6-5 Atlantic 10 Conference), who have won four in a row and five of the past six in the series.

Eric Evans surpassed the 1,000-point milestone for his career with nine points. He had 994 points going into the game.

The Dukes made 21 of 30 free throw attempts while Fordham went to the line only 15 times, making nine.

Duquesne never trailed, and led by as many as 17 points with 1:57 to play in the first half before taking a 46-29 lead into halftime.

Chris Gaston had 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead Fordham (9-12, 2-9), which lost its fourth game in a row and seventh straight on the road.
