Louisiana Tech rallies to beat North Dakota 58-53

RUSTON, La. (AP) — Raheem Appleby scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half as Louisiana Tech rallied to beat North Dakota 58-53 on Thursday night, snapping a four-game skid.

North Dakota (11-14) led throughout the first half, taking a 25-20 lead into halftime. But Louisiana Tech (12-14) rallied to take its first lead of the game, 51-50 behind a 3-pointer from Trevor Gaskins with 4:34 remaining.

The Fighting Sioux went back on top 52-51 but Appleby hit back-to-back jumpers and Gaskins converted two free throws while holding North Dakota to just one point the rest of the way.

Gaskins finished with 12 and Brandon Gibson had 10 for the Bulldogs.

Troy Huff scored 10 for North Dakota but Louisiana Tech held the Fighting Sioux’s leading scorer to just 4 of 17 from the field.

North Dakota has lost four of its last five games.
