Thursday, February 16, 2012
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Portland police have seized more than 1,000 marijuana plants valued at more than $1 million and arrested five people.
The Oregonian reports (http://is.gd/SHpzYD) that the five search warrants served Thursday throughout the metropolitan area capped an 18-month probe of a drug trafficking organization.
Sgt. Pete Simpson says the marijuana was grown in several houses and distributed throughout the region. He says the operation had no connection to medical marijuana.
