Big scoring runs and tough defense shut down Union in the 4A bi-district quarterfinal matchup at Mount Tahoma High School.
Curtis started the game on a 13-0 run. Union climbed back to take a 27-24 halftime lead, but Curtis opened the second half with a 9-0 spurt.
Union again fought back to get within four with about 2 minutes to play, Curtis iced the game by going 7 for 9 from the free-throw line.
Tanner Nelson led Union with 21 points, and Tyler Copp added 11. Jordan Chatman, Union’s top scorer, was held to three points.
Union will face Central Kitsap at 8 p.m. Saturday at Mount Tahoma HS.
