NEW YORK (AP) — Chicago Cubs right-hander Ricardo Estevez and free agent left-hander Jorge Navarrete have both been suspended for 50 games under baseball’s minor league drug program.
Estevez tested positive for metabolites of Stanozolol and Nandrolone, the commissioner’s office said Friday. He is on the roster of the Dominican Summer League Cubs.
Navarrete was suspended for refusing to take a drug test. His penalty will start when he signs with a major league organization.
Fifteen players have been suspended this year under the minor league program.
