PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) — Rutgers and Arkansas have agreed to a home-and-home series in football starting next season.

The schools announced on Friday that the Scarlet Knights of the Big East Conference will travel to Fayetteville on Sept. 22, while the Razorbacks of the SEC will visit High Point Solutions Stadium on Sept. 21, 2013.

Rutgers is 5-11-2 facing SEC competition. The last time the Scarlet Knights played an SEC team, they posted a 37-34 win at Vanderbilt in 2004.

All six of Rutgers’ home games against SEC opponents were at Giants Stadium, with Rutgers going 2-4.

Rutgers’ schedule for next season is still incomplete because it has not found an opponent to replace West Virginia, which is joining the Big 12 next season.
