Barone’s 25 lead Idaho past Portland State 77-68

MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Kyle Barone scored a career-high 25 points to help Idaho beat Portland State 77-68 on Saturday night.

Stephen Madison and Landon Tatum each had their first career double-double for Idaho (16-11), which extended its winning streak to five games. Madison had 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Tatum scored 10 points and dished out 10 assists.

Charles Odum led Portland State (13-13) with 17 points and Lateef McMullan chipped in 16.

Idaho shot 56 percent from the field for the game, its highest shooting percentage against a Division I program all season. Portland State shot 29 percent in the first half and 41 percent for the game.

Idaho never trailed and led by as many as 19 early in the second half. Portland State cut the lead to 69-61 with 1:25 left, but Idaho hit 12 of its 14 free throws down the stretch to extend the lead.
