Belmont blows out East Tennessee State 80-58

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Ian Clark scored 18 points and Belmont dominated throughout an 80-58 victory over East Tennessee State Saturday night in Atlantic Sun action.

The Bruins (21-7, 13-2) also got double-figure scoring from two other guards. Drew Hanlen and Kerron Johnson scored 15 points apiece.

Clark, Hanlen and Johnson accounted for all 11 of Belmont’s 3-pointers. Clark shot 4 of 11 from beyond the arc, while Hanlen was 5 for 11 and Johnson 2 for 2. The Bruins hit 11 of 28 attempts (39.3 percent). The Buccaneers, meanwhile were just 2 for 10 from long range.

The game was tied 15-15 midway through the first half. Then Belmont went on a 22-6 run to take a 37-21 lead at halftime. They were never headed from then on.

The Bruins made 23 of 29 foul shots while ETSU was just 10 for 15.

Sheldon Cooley led the Buccaneers with 13 points.
