ATLANTA (AP) — Devonta White and Rashaad Richardson scored 16 points each and Georgia State had its best shooting game, cruising to an 82-71 win over Texas-San Antonio on Saturday night.

Georgia State (19-9) shot 56.9 percent (33 of 58) from the floor in the Bracket Busters matchup against UTSA (15-12), which lost its third straight game. It was the Panthers’ best shooting effort since connecting on 62 percent of their shots in a 2009 game against Georgia Southern.

Eric Buckner finished with 14 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots for Georgia State, which won for the fifth time in six games. Josh Micheaux handed out a career-high 11 assists, had eight rebounds, four steals and eight points.

The Roadrunners closed Georgia State’s margin to seven, 45-38, at halftime. But never got closer than nine in the second half as the Panthers pushed their lead to 19 points with 2:59 to play.
