Sydney Allen had 14 points and Jenka Stiasna and Kendra Preuninger added 13 each as the Papermakers clinched their first berth in the state round of 16 since 1978.

Camas (18-8) came out cold and fell behind 10-3 in the first quarter. But the Papermakers got good energy off the bench from McKenna and Paige Jackson on defense to turn the tied, coach Chuck Knight said.

“And then we kind of rode Jenka Stiasna in the second half,” he said. “If she didn’t score, she made other things happen for other people.”

Camas will face Lakes of Lakewood at 2 p.m. Monday at Clover Park High School for the right to advance to the Bellevue regional with a win, or the Richland regional with a loss.

“We talked about wanting to go after that game on Monday,” Knight said. “We don’t want to look ahead to Saturday.”
