Real Betis wins 2-0 at Zaragoza in Spanish league

ZARAGOZA, Spain (AP) — Real Betis compounded Zaragoza’s relegation fears in the Spanish league by winning 2-0 Monday night.

Ruben Castro beat an offside trap before chipping over goalkeeper Roberto Jimenez in the 41st minute opener, then scored his ninth league goal of the season in the 68th after Roberto stopped Jorge Molina’s close-range shot.

Betis (9-12-2) is 12th with 29 points, while last-place Zaragoza (3-14-6) is 11 points from safety after its fifth loss in seven games at Romareda Stadium.
