WASHINGTON (AP) — Major League Soccer MVP Dwayne De Rosario has agreed to a new contract with D.C. United.
The 33-year-old midfielder moved from Toronto FC to the New York Red Bulls to D.C. United in a three-month span. An 11-year MLS veteran, he became the league’s leading scorer with an MLS-best 16 goals. He became the first Canadian to win the award, and the first player to win it from a team that missed the postseason.
The agreement for the five-time All-Star was announced Monday.
