Washougal’s season ended Tuesday with a 62-56 loss to North Thurston in the Class 2A district tournament at W.F. West High School in Chehalis.

Neither team built much of a lead, but the Rams prevailed to advance.

“They just made the plays when they needed to,” Washougal coach Malcolm Estes said. “It was a close game the whole way and we had our chances. Shots didn’t fall that normally do. We battled to the end. It was a tough way to end the season, but we gave it our best effort.”

David Crowley scored 18 points and Aaron Deister added 16 for the Panthers, who finished 14-10.

Ben Broeker scored 30 points to lead North Thurston.
