HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Bryan Dougher scored 12 of his 17 points in a big second half for Stony Brook, which won for the 16th time in its last 17, routing Hartford 74-50 on Tuesday night.

The Seawolves (19-8, 13-2 America East Conference) shot 15 of 19 from the field in the second half, outscoring Hartford 43-22 in the final 20 minutes.

Stony Brook led 40-35 with 16:14 to play, and scored nine straight to pull away for good.

The Hawks (8-20, 7-8), who shot 36.7 percent from 3-point range for the game, missed all four of their 3’s during the spurt.

Tommy Brenton added 11 points and 12 rebounds and Dallis Joyner had 13 points for Stony Brook, which needs a win in Sunday’s regular season finale to clinch the America East regular season title, thanks to Vermont’s 57-53 loss to Binghamton on Tuesday night.
