Residents concerned about an increase in the amount of coal to be transported through Vancouver can learn more about the issue at a meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Vancouver Community Library, 901 C St.

About a mile of train cars containing coal travel through Vancouver each day. A plan to increase that to 30 miles each day has some residents up in arms.

The meeting in the Klickitat Room of the library was organized by a new activist group called Community Rights Vancouver. The group is based on the community rights movement, which seeks to eliminate corporate personhood through local policy changes.
