PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Samme Givens scored 18 points and grabbed his 1,000th career rebound as Drexel rallied to defeat James Madison 78-61 Wednesday night and set the Dragons’ Division I record with 16 straight wins.

With George Mason’s loss at Northeastern, Drexel (24-5, 15-2) clinched the top seed in the CAA Tournament and continued the second-longest winning streak in the country behind No. 1 Kentucky.

The Dragons, down by 11 in the first half and 35-34 at the break, opened the second half with an 11-1 spurt and never trailed again.

Givens, a senior making his final Daskalakis Athletic Center appearance, grabbed eight rebounds to become only the third Drexel player to reach 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.

The Dragons outrebounded the Dukes 40-28, including 14 offensive boards.

Andrey Semenov scored 17 points, hitting five treys, to lead the Dukes (11-19, 4-13), who have lost three straight and eight of their last nine.
