SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) — The Royals have agreed to terms with relievers Louis Coleman and Greg Holland for this season, leaving five unsigned players on the 40-man roster.

Holland will make $497,150 and Coleman will make $491,750. Both of them had fewer than three years of service time, which meant the Royals could set their contracts.

The remaining unsigned players are right-hander Vin Mazzaro, left-hander Danny Duffy, catcher Salvador Perez, shortstop Alcides Escobar and second baseman Johnny Giavotella. Each of them also has fewer than three years of service time.

Kansas City had its first workout with pitchers and catchers on Tuesday. The remainder of the team reports Friday, with the first full-squad workout scheduled for Saturday.

The Royals’ spring training opener is March 4 against the Texas Rangers.
