A man was sent to the hospital after his truck hit a tree near East Mill Plain Boulevard early Thursday, officials said.
The crash was reported at 5:44 a.m. near Mill Plain Boulevard and North Devine Road, according to emergency dispatch logs.
The Vancouver Fire Department responded to the crash, which was a short distance from Station 3.
An adult male driving a pickup swerved to avoid an animal in the road and struck a tree, said firefighter-paramedic Kevin Stromberg.
The man was able to extricate himself but was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, Stromberg said.
