LIU Brooklyn beats Fairleigh Dickinson 91-80

HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) -- Julian Boyd scored 21 points and grabbed 20 rebounds, and Jamal Olasewere had 24 points as LIU Brooklyn clinched the Northeast Conference regular-season title by defeating Fairleigh Dickinson 91-80 Thursday night.

Jason Brickman had 13 assists for the Blackbirds (22-7, 16-1) after getting 16 in LIU's 99-89 win over Quinnipiac last Saturday.

LIU won its eighth game in a row and ninth straight over the Knights (2-26, 1-16), but Fairleigh Dickinson trailed just 48-47 with 17:34 remaining. A 22-8 run by the Blackbirds over the next 7:34, including 13 points by Olasewere, gave them a 70-55 advantage.

C.J. Garner added 19 points for LIU, including 10 of 10 from the free throw line. The Blackbirds made 25 of 29 free throws to the Knights' 6 of 11.

Melquan Bolding scored 21 points for Fairleigh Dickinson. George Goode had 16 points and Kinu Rochford 14 points and 12 rebounds.
