A pickup towing a flatbed trailer jackknifed on state Highway 503 north of Battle Ground Friday morning, the Washington State Patrol said.

The 2006 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Nadezgda G. Nikolaeva, 54, of Battle Ground, was towing a trailer with 7,500 pounds of lumber on Highway 503 about two miles north of Battle Ground around 10:30 a.m., a state patrol press release said.

The truck went over a slight curve in a grade, jack-knifed, crossed the southbound lane, hit the guardrail and lost its load, the state patrol said.

The crash was caused by an overloaded trailer weaving, the state patrol said.

Nikolaeva was not reported injured. She was ticketed for improper towing.
