DOVER, Del. (AP) — A bankruptcy judge has refused to postpone a hearing on the Los Angeles Dodgers’ request to disallow a claim filed on behalf of a San Francisco Giants fan who was nearly beaten to death outside Dodger Stadium last spring.

The judge said Friday that he would proceed with a March 21 hearing on the Dodgers’ request to disallow the claim filed on behalf of Bryan Stow. Stow’s attorneys had asked for more time to prepare their opposition to the request.

The Dodgers contend that Stow cannot prove that failures by the club were the cause of his injuries.

While refusing to delay the hearing, the judge said the Dodgers will have a considerable task convincing him that there are no facts that could result in liability for the club.
