EVERETT, Wash. (AP) -- A Snohomish County sheriff's officer says a 180-pound female county jail inmate is accused of attacking a female corrections deputy and grabbing the guard's keys and pepper spray.
Court papers say the 29-year-old Everett, Wash., inmate later told investigators she just needed fresh air.
Sheriff's office Chief Kevin Prentiss tells The Daily Herald of Everett (http://is.gd/ShsDm4 ) the corrections deputy was delivering an item to another inmate in a medical housing unit at the jail when she was attacked early Friday and pulled to the ground.
The inmate reportedly threw the deputy's keys to another inmate but others didn't participate.
Prentiss says the deputy was finally able to press an emergency button on her radio and other deputies came to her aid.
No one was hurt.
