Flames damaged the roof of a manufactured home in central Vancouver on Saturday morning.
Vancouver firefighters were dispatched to a fire at the double-wide home at 4300 N.E. 59th Ave., west of Andresen Road, at 8:53 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, they saw the homeowner on the roof, trying to extinguish the flames with a hose, said Vancouver firefighter-spokesman Kevin Stromberg.
After firefighters took over, they gained entry to the house, fighting the fire from inside. The blaze was brought under control at about 9:12 a.m., Stromberg said.
The damage to the manufactured home was estimated at $50,000, and most of it was confined to the roof. Firefighters had put down tarps inside the house to minimize water damage.
No one was injured. A cause of the fire has not yet been determined, Stromberg said.
