GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers want to have a deeper lineup this season and hope Juan Uribe can play a key part.
Uribe hit only .204 after joining the Dodgers and signing a three-year contract. He was limited to 77 games by hip and abdominal problems and his season ended in early September after surgery for a sports hernia.
Uribe says he’s not hurt this spring. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly says he’s looking at Uribe strictly as a third baseman.
