OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Washington state officials say they’re on alert Sunday as they watch a 649-foot cargo ship drifting without power about 10 miles from the mouth of the Columbia River.
Department of Ecology spokeswoman Sandy Howard says the vessel is carrying 560,000 gallons of fuel. The department received a report that the vessel lost power about 1 p.m.
The vessel is named Morning Spruce. It’s a car carrier.
No other details were immediately available.
