EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — A Lane County Circuit Court judge entered not guilty pleas Monday for a man charged with manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide in the death of a bicycle rider in Eugene.

The 53-year-old Springfield man, James Robert Gleich (glike), was arrested Sunday after a grand jury indictment last week, following a lengthy investigation by Eugene police.

The Register-Guard reports (http://is.gd/XTRapO ) police reconstructed the collision to determine fault.

The accident happened Aug. 29 as 39-year-old Mingo Pelkey was making a left turn at an intersection near her apartment.

If convicted of manslaughter Gleich would face a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison.
