The annual Pow Wow of the Native American education program will be held noon to 10 p.m. Saturday at Covington Middle School, 12200 N.E. Rosewood Ave.

Students from the Evergreen, Vancouver and Battle Ground school districts will perform dancing, drumming and other arts. The gathering will include representatives from tribes across the Northwest.

The master of ceremonies will be Bob Tom. The host drum is manned by Bulls and Bears, and the guest drum by Wy’east. The event is drug- and alcohol-free. Admission is free. There will be grand entries at 1 and 6 p.m.

The education program is part of the federal Title VII initiative to support local districts in educating Indians, native Hawaiians and Alaska natives. Students in the program are eligible for tutoring and attend weekly culture classes.
