SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Spokane police are investigating the death of a homeless man who had a suspicious head injury.

Forty-five-year-old Jeffrey Hardwick checked into the House of Charity on Friday night, and when the staff couldn’t wake him Saturday morning he was taken to a hospital where he died.

The executive director of Catholic Charities, Rob McCann, told KXLY (http://is.gd/Np4Tnd ) the House of Charity helps an average of 300 people a day, and a least once a month they have a memorial service for a homeless person who has died.
