SALEM, Ore. (AP) — The Oregon State Patrol says more people were arrested for driving under the influence this New Year’s Eve than last year.
They credit increased patrols throughout the state by local and state law enforcement.
KTVZ-TV (http://is.gd/IudWke ) reports preliminary numbers of DUI arrests between Saturday and Sunday of 47 around the state, including 25 after midnight.
Last year, troopers reported 41 DUI arrests during the same period. Troopers arrested 34 DUII drivers two years ago.
