Letter: Brush up your daily scriptures

Now is a good time, at the beginning of the year, to begin daily Bible reading, on a program to read through the Bible in a year. I use “The MacArthur Daily Bible” by John MacArthur. It is set up so you read some from the Old Testament, Psalms, Proverbs, and New Testament each day, and read through the Bible in a year. It has explanation notes in it.

If you can’t read the Old Testament parts, at least read the other parts. Psalms 1:1 and 2 tells us: “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law doth he meditate day and night.” Psalm 119:105 says: “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” The only way this can happen is if we read it and meditate on it.

May God bless each of you as you read and meditate on His Word.
