No. 16 Penn St women beat Wisconsin 82-49

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Maggie Lucas scored 18 points to lead No. 16 Penn State to an 82-49 win over Wisconsin on Monday.

Lucas led a balanced attack for the Nittany Lions (11-3, 1-1 Big Ten) with Nikki Greene adding 14 points and Mia Nickson with 10 points and 14 rebounds.

Taylor Wurtz led Wisconsin (4-10, 0-2) with 17.

Penn State took over the game in the first half after Wisconsin pulled ahead 15-13 on back-to-back fastbreak layups.

Penn State then reeled off 14 straight.

Wisconsin cut the lead to seven, but the Nittany Lions finished the half on an 11-3 run and led 40-25 at the break.

The rout was on in the second half as the Badgers struggled offensively, shooting 33 percent for the game, including 2 of 18 from 3-point range.
