ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) — The only Sears store in Oregon to be closed in the current round of cuts is in Roseburg, where plans are under way to recruit new retailers.
The Roseburg News-Review reports (http://bit.ly/twT7Ax ) the Sears store at Roseburg Valley Mall is expected to close by the time its lease expires — at the end of April.
A broker and recruiter for the mall says it’s not likely that any one retailer will take the Sears space — so the plan is to remodel and divide it into three parts
The company last week listed the Roseburg store among 79 Sears and Kmart stores to be closed. The Roseburg Kmart was spared.
