Talking Points: Profiting from Matt Flynn

The Columbian

What’s the buzz from the world of sports? Here are some items that will have people talking:

1

You had to have known that somewhere out there, someone was going benefit from Matt Flynn’s record-setting day for the Packers.

Tweeted CNBC business reporter Darren Rovell on Sunday afternoon: “Um, some dude just paid $525 for a Matt Flynn rookie card on eBay.”

Sure enough, even came with a screenshot of the transaction.

No word if it was a relative of Flynn’s … or Aaron Rodgers.

We know this wasn’t the case, but we’d like to blame the BCS anyway for there not being any bowl games on New Year’s Day 2012.

Just doesn’t feel the same with the traditional New Year’s football (and parade) festivities on the day-after New Year’s.

Yeah, it happens every so often (the next will be 2017). It might be a day late, but still enjoy all the sporting events there are on this day-after New Year’s.
