The Chieftains held the Papermakers to single-digit scoring in all four quarters to pull away for the 17-point win.

Isaiah Smith had 23 points, eight rebounds, and four blocked shots to lead Columbia River. Devin Bolds had 10 assists and four steals.

“It was a real grind. It didn’t look pretty. Nothing will be on our highlight reel,” Columbia River coach David Long said. “Part of that is Camas’ doing. It was a tough, physical grind.”

Long added that it turned into a comfortable win, but it took some time to get the big advantage.

“They struggled shooting the ball. If they had a hot night shooting, it would have made it very interesting,” Long said.

Of course, some of that was due to River’s defense, holding the Papermakers to quarters scores of 6, 8, 9 and 9.

Anthony Fallin led Camas with 10 points. Kyle Friend added eight.
