Deputy injured in fight with suspect at Aloha

HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) -- The Washington County sheriff's office says a deputy was injured in a fight with a fleeing suspect who resisted arrest.

The suspect also was injured Tuesday and both were treated at a hospital.

It began when deputies chased a stolen pickup truck, which crashed into a ditch at Aloha. The driver ran through several back yards until he was caught. He refused to surrender peacefully. A sheriff's corporal was injured in the fight.

The suspect, a 25-year-old Scappoose man, was jailed on charges that include reckless driving and resisting arrest.
