Liverpool will not appeal Suarez's 8-match ban
Tuesday, January 3, 2012
LONDON (AP) -- England's Football Association says Liverpool will not appeal Luis Suarez's eight-match suspension, assessed for repeatedly racially abusing an opponent during a match.
The decision means the ban began with Tuesday night's Premier League match at Manchester City.
The Uruguayan forward also was fined 40,000 pounds ($62,000) for making racial insults to Manchester United defender Patrice Evra in October during a 1-1 draw at Anfield.
