NEW YORK (AP) — Rob Stone is leaving ESPN to become the lead studio host on Fox Soccer, with former U.S. national team star Eric Wynalda becoming the network’s primary studio analyst.

Stone will start Jan. 22, when Fox’s main network televises its first live English Premier League games — Arsenal vs. Manchester before the NFC championship game. Fox’s main network also will televise the Chelsea-Manchester United game Feb. 5 before the Super Bowl on NBC.

Stone joined ESPN in 1997 and worked for the network during the last four World Cups.

Fox announced his hiring Tuesday.
