Talking Points: Feel for the Huskies fans

What’s the buzz from the world of sports? Here are some items that will have people talking:

1

Sorry, Huskies fans, but this has to hurt. It’s been a long time since the Ducks overtook the Huskies as the best of the Northwest football programs. But at least the Ducks never lived up to the hype in the BCS title game nor the Rose Bowls they had played in … until now.

For a long time there on Monday, the Ducks looked like they were trying to emulate the Huskies defense, but then the Ducks stopped giving up points at 38 — just 29 fewer than the Huskies gave up last week.

Goodness, 29 fewer?

Oh, we feel for you, Husky fans.

So here you go, Huskies.

Washington 7, Oregon 2. That’s the number of Rose Bowl victories for each program.

Oh, and Oregon only wins one Rose Bowl every 95 years or so.

The Blazers had a great December, undefeated for the entire month!

That has not happened a lot in the team’s history.

Oh, so it was only three games. Three homes games, you say?

Hey, undefeated is undefeated.

However, January started, and the Blazers have not won a game all month.

All kidding aside, this is a scary month for Blazer fans. The team has 18 games in the 31 days, with 11 games on the road. In one stretch, the Blazers will play six road games in nine days.

It was fun to see the Blazers get off to a fast start, but we should know more about this team in the next few weeks.
