BOSTON (AP) — Celtics guard Ray Allen is missing Wednesday night’s game against the New Jersey Nets because of an illness.
Boston coach Doc Rivers said the 36-year old Allen skipped the team’s shootaround earlier in the day and was told to say home because he wasn’t feeling well.
Allen led the team with 27 points — 11 in the final quarter — in Monday’s win over Washington.
Rivers said Keyon Dooling will start in his place.
The Nets are also short-handed. Deron Williams is expected to miss the game with a sore right ankle, Kris Humphries with a sore left shoulder and Brook Lopez is out with a broken right foot.
