Charlotte adds 3 assistants to coaching staff

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Charlotte, set to begin play in 2013, hired Phil Ratliff as offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator, Napolean Sykes as linebackers coach and Joe Tereshinski III as inside receivers coach Wednesday.

Ratliff, a 1994 Marshall graduate, was the Thundering Herd’s tight ends coach for the last six years.

Sykes, a 2006 graduate of Wake Forest, spent the last two years at Navy where he coached the outside linebackers and secondary. Tereshinski, a 2006 Georgia graduate, spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistant at Wake Forest.

Charlotte head coach Brad Lambert says all three coaches are “high character guys” and he’s looking forward to them joining his staff.
