Girls basketball: Woodland 41, Hockinson 27

Taylor McCullough scored seven of her game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter to help the host Beavers pull away late.

Woodland (8-4) outscored Hockinson 14-2 in the fourth quarter in the Class 2A Greater St. Helens League opener for voth teams.

Jenna Haagen scored 18 points to pace the Hawks. Haagen scored 12 of her points in the first quarter, helping Hockinson to an early lead.

Woodland coach Glenn Flanagan said he switched defenses and had Sidra Malik guard Haagen the rest of the game.

In addition to her 19 points, McCullough had seven steals for Woodland. Madison Sorensen added 10 points and three steals for the Beavers.
