CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Hawks coach Larry Drew says forward Tracy McGrady will miss Friday night’s game against the Bobcats because of a bruised knee.

Drew did not know which knee was ailing, but said it’s been bothering his top reserve most of the week. McGrady played through the pain against the Heat on Thursday night.

McGrady is Atlanta’s leading scorer off the bench, averaging 10.6 points and 4.9 rebounds. Drew said Ivan Johnson will play more with McGrady out.

After the morning shootaround, Bobcats coach Paul Silas said Corey Maggette will be out two to four weeks with a strained left hamstring. Derrick Brown starts in place of Maggette, who is averaging more than 12 points.
