ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Kyle Downey had 19 points to pace five Siena players in double-figure scoring as the Saints dropped Fairfield 73-60 on Friday night for their first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference win of the season.

O.D. Anosike scored 13 points and pulled down 15 boards, Rob Poole also had 13 points, Owen Wignot added 12 and Evan Hymes 10 for the Saints (6-8, 1-3). Siena has won three of its last four — the Saints’ best stretch of the season.

The game was back-and-forth until early in the second half when a Hymes layup put Siena ahead for good at 40-38 with 14:55 to play. Anosike then scored nine of his total in just more than two minutes, fueling a 19-8 run that helped the Saints cruise to victory.

Desmond Wade scored a game-high 27 points, including seven 3-pointers, to lead the Stags (8-7, 3-1), who have lost three of four.
