HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- There is a different dynamic to this year's matchup between Big East women's basketball rivals Connecticut and Notre Dame.
The Irish (14-1, 2-0 Big East), perennial underdogs to the Huskies (12-1, 2-0), are this season's coaches' pick to win the conference. They come into Saturday's game ranked No. 3, just a spot below UConn.
Despite winning 12 of the last 13 meetings between the two schools, the Huskies get to play the role of underdogs after losing to Notre Dame in last season's national semifinal.
Connecticut's Kelly Faris says that loss will be on the minds of Huskies as they travel to South Bend for the game on CBS.
UConn and Notre Dame each come into the game with one loss, and it was to the same opponent, top-ranked Baylor.
